In the section, you can find some pictures of the machines still preserved today at the Centrale Montemartini, evidence of the industrial past of the structure.

Steam turbines and diesel engines were used to produce electricity, which was produced using combustion. The turbines exploited the product of external combustion: they were powered by steam, produced by boilers through the combustion of coal, which was burned at more than 400 degrees. Diesel engines, on the other hand, used internal combustion.
