Restoration and arrangement of the funerary relief of Marcus Virgilius Eurisaces and his wife Atistia
The conservation restoration of the funerary relief was carried out between November and December 2018, with the aim of recovering and returning to the public the funerary relief preserved in the Centrale Montemartini's storage rooms.
The project, by the Capitoline Cultural Heritage Superintendency, is part of the cultural patronage initiatives promoted by the Capitoline Administration.
The intervention, financed by the Archdiocese of Paderborn, was carried out by the firm "De Cesaris srl" and also included the installation of the relief in the museum spaces of the Centrale Montemartini.
The intervention included:
- The study and conservative restoration of the work
- The movements and structural installations aimed at the new display in the museum
- The integration of the lost head of Atistia
